The Frame five: Trevor, Amy, and our kids: Finnley (4), Owen (3), and Eloise (1). We are just your average family, trying to give our kids the best childhood we can and raise them to be wonderful, kind, interesting people. And like most people, we value our time together as a family. One of our favorite things to do together as a family is travel, even with such young kids. Traveling as a family brings you closer. In a strange place, where everything is new and different itโ€™s comforting to have each other. When we travel we try our best to keep some of our routines, especially bedtime stories. On one of our road trips to visit family, our boys were having a particularly hard time falling asleep. I decided to make up a story with each of their favorite things at the time: pirates and dinosaurs. A year later the boys still ask for this story. Itโ€™s evolved into a new quest being invented each time and often we are making it up together. Iโ€™m convinced this will be a core memory for them.

As kids, Trevor and I grew up on fantasy fiction favorites such as Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and much more. These books and movies have become nostalgic for us. As brand new parents with a newborn, we often would watch or reread these favorites. But as any parent would, we began to censor what they were exposed to as they got older. We have found ourselves saying more times than we can count โ€œ I canโ€™t wait till you are old enough to read that book or watch that movieโ€ We have found ways to still introduce these classic fantasy fiction characters and fictional universes. Countless hours have been spent explaining

  • Tolkeinโ€™s Middle Earth with Hobbits, Wizards, Dwarves, Elves, Trolls, Goblins, Orcs,
  • JK Rowlingโ€™s  Magical World with wizards, castles, and fantastic beasts,
  • George Lucasโ€™s galaxy far away with Jedi Knights, spaceships, The Empire vs The Rebellion and
  • his adventure-seeking archeologist in tombs, caves, and temples.

Itโ€™s been one of the greatest joys of parenthood to watch their eyes twinkle with excitement, to answer the barrage of questions they have, and to help them get into character to create their own plot lines. A lot of similarities from these fantasy fiction favorites have found their way into our own original stories. Lots of adventure, enchanting lands, formidable foes, friendship, bravery, quests and heroic deeds.

Through this fun family tradition came this idea for a business. To write & publish childrenโ€™s books, with dreams of creating additional โ€œthingsโ€ featuring our characters and fictional lands.

We are so excited to start our very own adventur
